Click it up a notch!

I have been reading this awesome blog for a few months now, and they have a photo contest each month.  Sadly this is the last month they are doing it so I decided to jump in with one of my photos.

I picked this one from the Keeneland Horse races in Lexington, KY.

A few more...

For some of my editing I use PicMonkey.  An online editing site.  It works for now, until I get lightroom!  A fun feature of picmonkey is collages!  I had a little fun and made a few from the Keenland horse races!

This first one are some of my favorite pictures I've taken!  I got my camera all ready before the race, and set it to take lots of pictures fast!  I set it on a little cement wall about knee high, so I could crank up my shutter speed to capture every detail.  It was cloudy day so I had to set my ISO pretty high and left my aperture on 3.5.  I set my shutter speed on 4000, and got these great shots!

(Sorry these are kind of small.  It's as big as I can make them because their so wide)

Here is another race I got.  This I did holding the camera.

And my beautiful friend :)  Isn't she gorgeous????

Keenland!

Kentucky is a part of my heart, and always will be!  As well as Ohio, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Costa Rica.  Every time I hear those states, and country, I will always think of my 7 amazing MC classmates.  Even if they don't live there anymore.

I've had the blessing to be able to visit Kentucky 4 times now since I moved home.  When I say blessed, I really can't describe HOW grateful I am to live SO close to three of my classmates home state and every time I've come home, I've been overwhelmed with God's great love for me to allow me to visit so often!  A few weekends ago I again had the opportunity to drive down there to visit.  One of my other sweet sisters was visiting from Arkansas so it was the perfect time to go!  Every time I go, I make new memories I cherish dearly!  And this time I captured some of them with my camera!  These girls are a lot of the reason I wanted to start taking pictures.  Both of them have DSLR cameras and I had played with them a few times and wanted to learn more!

We spent a day at a conference and visiting old friends, and the next day, we went to horse races!  This was first for me!  And it was incredible!  Though a bit cold, we had a wonderful time!

Some of these I edited, some I didn't.  Enjoy the beautiful fall colors and amazing horses!

Isn't she just the cutest???  I think so :)

Standing room at the bottom, and the grandstands for the higher up folk :)

The winner!

Chili dogs, homemade potato chips, and hot chocolate among the yummyness we had!

The giant bored was awesome!

Beautiful!

He fits right in!
I enjoyed taking pictures of interesting people there.  I had to capture my fellow Nikon user!

Precious little girl with her daddy at the race

Sadly, I didn't have my camera ready in time so these were over exposed

Trying to capture the emotion in that place

Lovely fall colors!
